Terms of use & community standards
These terms govern your use of Comb the Cove, a game operated by NorthPath Strategies LLC. By using the game, you agree to these terms. The privacy policy explains how we handle information.
Using the game
You may use Comb the Cove for personal, noncommercial entertainment. You are responsible for your device, account access, and compliance with applicable laws and platform rules.
Accounts
An account is optional for Journey, Zen, Blitz, Thirty Moves and Marathon, and required for ranked Daily Cove and Friend Duel. Provide accurate account information, protect your email and password, and notify support if you suspect unauthorized use. You may delete your account at any time.
In app versions that support the protected account and player-name flow, the app asks you to affirmatively accept the current Terms and Community Standards and acknowledge the privacy policy before creating an account or publishing a name. The service records the accepted versions and its own acceptance time. Guest play does not require an account or this account-specific consent.
Community standards for player names
A player name is user-provided public content. Choose a name suitable for a general audience. Do not publish a name that contains or promotes:
- profanity, hateful language, harassment, threats, or slurs;
- sexual, explicit, exploitative, or predatory content;
- personal information or a route to contact someone, including an email, phone number, address, URL, or social handle;
- impersonation of Comb the Cove, NorthPath, staff, support, moderators, another person, or another organization; or
- spam, scams, promotions, solicitations, or deceptive offers.
The game applies server-side structural checks and provides report and block controls. The protected player-name flow adds broader checks before publication as compatible app versions receive that rollout. Automated checks cannot identify every harmful or context-dependent name. We may reset or remove a name, limit social or competitive features, suspend an account, preserve a bounded safety record, or take other proportionate action after review. Repeated attempts to evade the checks are prohibited. To report or appeal a decision, contact support.
You keep any rights you have in a permitted player name. You give NorthPath a limited, worldwide, nonexclusive license to store, display, moderate, and transmit it only as needed to operate and protect the game and its social or ranking features.
Fair play
Do not modify clients, automate play, forge move logs, exploit vulnerabilities, interfere with other players, or attempt to obtain unauthorized access. We may reject unverifiable scores or suspend competitive access when reasonably necessary to protect fair play.
Ownership
Comb the Cove software, text, branding, and any artwork or audio that NorthPath owns or uses under license are protected by intellectual-property law. These terms do not transfer ownership or grant rights in third-party materials.
Availability
We may improve, update, pause, or discontinue features. Offline modes are designed to work without a connection, while cloud and competitive features depend on third-party services and network availability.
Disclaimer and liability
The game is provided “as is” to the extent permitted by law. We do not promise uninterrupted or error-free operation. To the fullest extent permitted by law, NorthPath is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from use of the game. Nothing in these terms excludes consumer rights or liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.
